Hailing from the Benti Korbo Drying Station and surrounds, we are pleased to welcome this fruit-forward lot, roasted for filter; a stunning example of the nuanced expression that Guji coffees are so well known for.
The Benti Korbo Drying Station is a private mill located approximately 5km outside of Shakiso town proper, in the famed Guji Zone or Oromia. Owned and operated by our long standing partner Tesfaye Bekele, owner of the nearby Suke Quto farm, Benti Korbo serves as Tesfaye’s dedicated natural and honey processing station. Since 2009, Benti Korbo has served as a key collection point for cherry from over 170 organic outgrowers from the surrounding community.

Working with over 170 organic outgrowers, he has built a strong community of likeminded producers in Odo Shakiso and surrounding villages. He has distributed coffee seedlings through the community - promoting coffee gardens throughout Guji - as well as by acting as a trusted buyer of cherry for processing and export. Using proceeds from Benti Korbo Drying Station and nearby Suke Quto, Tesfaye has funded the construction of a new school in Kumure to service the village. Since 2015, its 1,200 students have had access to improved facilities allowing for safer, more comfortable and sanitary learning environment.
